Lebanese Canadian Coordinating Council’s (LCCC) letter to Canada's Minister of
Foreign Affairs, The Honorable Lawrence Cannon in regards to the Dilemma of a
Canadian-Lebanese Family at the Beirut Airport/June 10/09
A Canadian-Lebanese mother and four children were not allowed
to enter Lebanon on Monday June 08/09, and inhumanly forced to return back to
Canada. No legal Justification or any kind of explanation was given to the
mother .They were held for almost twenty four hours in the Beirut airport and
than sent back to Canada. The mother was denied from contacting her husband in
Mississauga or any of his family members in Lebanon. They were badly dealt at
the airport by the security personal, ridiculed, humiliated and accused of
treason.

Elias Bejjani/LCCC Chairman
The
majority of the People in
Lebanon, from all nominations, and all walks of
life, with no fear or hesitation have said on
Sunday through their casting votes, No to Hezbollah, No to Terrorism,
No To Syria, No to Iran, No to the Axis of Evil,
and no to the education of hatred, rejection of
others, suicide and fanaticism They said
NO to General Michel Aoun whose delusions of
grandiose made him fool himself and believe that
he can simply negate, destroy and marginalize
the Lebanese Christian deeply rooted history,
solid democratic and patriotic convictions, love
for peace, and lead them in joining the
Iranian-Syrian-Hezbollah destructive and
terrorism schemes. The Lebanese said loudly YES TO
PEACE , DEMOCRACY and an astounding yes to the
legitimate State, and a courageous and big NO to the
Terrorist Hezbollah mini
state.
Lebanon, The Holy Land Of the CEDARS by God's
blessings will always be an oasis for Freedoms and
democracy. It will never be a replicate of the
Iranian Mullah's oppressive Regime.
Congratulations to the Lebanese faithful and
patriotic people for their peaceful and daring
achievement. Beloved Lebanese in Lebanon: We,
The Lebanese in Diaspora are very proud of you.

letter that was sent to Canada's PM, Mr. Haper.23.12.06
Thank you Mr.
Harper. Once again you proved to be the right man for the right job.
Thanks to our honest and courageous Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Stephen
Harper Harper. Thanks from the Lebanese Canadian Coordination Council (LCCC) and
all the members of the Canadian Lebanese community all over Canada who fully
share the Council's love for peace and freedom, their honoring of democracy and
the rule of law, and their commitment to Human Rights, tolerance, diversity and
the acceptance of others. Thank you, Mr. Harper, for standing tall like the Holy
Cedars of our homeland Lebanon. Thank you for declaring loudly and strongly
Canada's firm stance against terrorist organizations and the states of the axis
of evil. Thank you for saying a big NO to any dialogue with the terrorist
Hezbollah organization, which is Iran's army in Lebanon and which, through force
and against the will of the majority of the Lebanese people, has erected a state
inside the state. This fundamentalist organization is fully run, financed and
controlled by Iran and Syria, and has dragged Lebanon and its people into a
devastating and crippling war last July. Its leadership, and in response to
military instructions from Iran and Syria, has been for the last three weeks
resorting to scare tactics to topple Lebanon's legitimate elected Government .Press

Release/Wednesday, 2 August, 2006
Toronto-Ontario:
The LCCC, an umbrella organization for six non-profit Lebanese Canadian groups,
strongly condemns the undemocratic political tactics that the Opposition
Liberal, NDP and Bloc Quebecois parties executed yesterday during a hearing
session for the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International
Development. The session was initiated by the Opposition parties to challenge
the Conservative government’s Middle East policy and the evacuation of Canadians
from Lebanon.
Several groups and individuals applied to be witnesses and were accepted by the
Clerk of the Committee. These witnesses traveled to Ottawa from across the
country, but were unjustly prevented from delivering their statements. Among
them was Mr. Elias Bejjani, LCCC Chairman and the Canadian Lebanese Human Right
Federation (CLHRF) Spokesman, (a member in the LCCC coalition). It is astounding
that although the hearing pertained to Lebanon, Opposition MPs deemed it
appropriate to silence Lebanese witnesses. Below is the statement (in Arabic,
French and English) that CLHRF Spokesman Elias Bejjani had prepared but was
prevented from delivering:

LCCC URGENT CALL TO THE LEBANESE IN DIASPORA
We
appeal to the Lebanese people in Diaspora countries and draw their attention to
the fact that while they should feel empathy for their own suffering people in
Beirut, in the South and in every corner of Lebanon. However, that empathy
should not be confused with sympathy for Hezbollah, as we see several prominent
Lebanese groups, web sites and media doing. We call on the Lebanese people
everywhere to demonstrate in front of Syrian and Iranian embassies to tell them
to stop supporting Hezbollah and stop shipping weapons and providing political
cover for the Hezbollah Group. The only direct cause for the ongoing destruction
of Lebanon is the pointless and reckless acts of Hezbollah who did not consult
the Lebanese people or the Lebanese government. Its Leadership only obeyed
Tehran’s and Damascus’ orders. This is treason and violates the Lebanese
constitution.

Background
The committee met on August 1. In the morning, the committee MPs had an
opportunity to question the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade,
Peter MacKay. In the afternoon, the Opposition MPs, mainly led by Alexa
McDonough of the NDP, put forward a procedural motion calling for committee
business to be dealt with before the witnesses were heard. The government MPs
responded that concluding the committee business before hearing from the
witnesses was like passing a verdict in a trial before calling witnesses. Ms
McDonough went further, stating that the witnesses were identified with a single
well-defined, narrow position, and challenged their credibility. It should be
noted that Ms. McDonough made these damaging allegations against witnesses
approved by the Clerk of the Committee, while knowing neither the witnesses nor
the content of their testimony.
