US NATIONAL
GUARDS BOMB PHILADELPHIA; 20,000 KILLED
By: Freedom Fighter
Imagine these headlines; "US National Guards bomb the city of Philadelphia for a
week and kill 20,000 citizens to put down a revolt by Christian
Fundamentalists". "Amnesty International decries the arrest and torture of
thousands of opponents of the regime in England". "The German President was
re-elected with 99.97% of the popular vote". "The Italian State Police arrests
hundreds of opponents who were distributing leaflets decrying the government
participation in the war in Kosovo. The arrested citizens have been tortured.
Those released were forced to sign documents stating their willingness to forgo
any future political activity. Hundreds disappeared altogether and their
whereabouts are unknown".
For most citizens of the democratic west, these may sound like comic, perhaps
imaginary headlines from science fiction books, unless of course you believe
Waco-Texas was a US government conspiracy. We have news for our friends in the
"democratic" world, these headlines are our reality, our life, our daily
struggle. We the people of Lebanon and the Middle East have been subjected to
such cruelties and attacks against our basic human rights, not in the 19th
century, not in the far past, but right now, 1999 and for decades prior under
the eyes of the so-called civilized world. The Bloody Syrian Assad dictatorship
has invaded and occupied our homeland since 1976. As a result, a quarter million
of our people have been killed, injured, and maimed. A third of our people have
been forced out of the country. Half a million are still refugees within the
country unable to return to their razed villages. This is a catastrophic
calamity for a country of 3.5 million inhabitants. It is equivalent to 20
million Americans, 5 million French, and 100 million Chinese casualties. One
man, one regime, is responsible; Hafez Assad, the dictator of Syria, also known
as the Butcher of Damascus.
Today, 2 major democracies are cajoling this bloody dictator. The United States
of America; the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Proud, along with Israel,
the nation of martyrs who fell to tyranny and unthinkable human cruelty, are
willing to impose slavery, torture, and death on small Lebanon in order to
appease the dictator of Syria. This is a shameful chapter in the History of
America and Israel. Both have known persecution, and both should cherish liberty
more than any other nation and people on this planet. It is a shame that they
are committing Lebanon to slavery under the Syrian Dictatorship.
Peace is incompatible with dictatorship. The Peace that we seek is like the one
between Western Europe and the United States. A cooperative, collaborative,
friendly, sometimes competitive, but always well intending environment where all
people benefit and their Spirit can grow. Where human beings are respected and
their human rights are the foundation of the Republic. Peace is not only between
states, but also between people and amongst the people. A true Peace must have 3
minimal ingredients: Justice, Freedom, and Democracy. There is no justice in
occupation. There is no freedom under occupation. There is no democracy under
dictatorship. Peace is accomplished when Power flows from the people, not when
imposed upon them through dictatorial rule. Peace can only exist in a state of
law, which is applied equally to everyone. Peace is maintained when the economic
ground is leveled and all members of society are given an equal fighting chance
to the blessings of liberty and opportunity. Where monopolies are outlawed and
Free Enterprise encouraged. Where collusion is banned but cooperation and
teamwork promoted. Where every person in the land has rights respected by law
and practice. Where the word Accountability can exist, and does mean something.
Whole societies must be turned upside down in the Middle East. The example must
be set at the top, the Real Top of the World. This New World Order must practice
what it preaches. It must shun cruelty and dictatorships, take the reign of
humanity, and guide into a better and more humane 21st century.
The Assad clan does not want peace. True peace will mean Justice, Compassion,
Friendliness, Freedom, and most of all Accountability. Dictatorship is the
antidote of accountability to the people? Has any peace treaty signed in this
century with a dictatorship resulted in a lasting peace? Have you seen progress,
prosperity, creativity, freedom, and happiness under any Iron Curtain? True
peace in the Middle East must mean the emancipation of all people. The
liberation of all human energies to excel and produce. The bringing of a final
heart-felt joy to an old man, a smile to a child, a hug to a handicapped, hope
for a young teenager. If you wish to talk about real Peace, then contact the
constitutional government of Lebanon by calling His Excellency, Prime Minister
Michel Aoun who currently resides in France because he was exiled there by the
puppet regime of collaborators that your prior government has appointed.
There will be no Peace in the Middle East without a Free Lebanon.
