Patriarch Al Raei and
The Suspicious Stances
Elias Bejjani: 02/07/11
In my new Arabic editorial titled: "Patriarch Al Raei and The Suspicious Stances", the main focus is on a set of bizarre and denounced statement uttered by his Beatitude the Maronite Patriarch Al Raei during the last few days in Beirut and Rome in which he not only supported Hezbollah's new government in Lebanon, but went further to bless it and call on the Lebanese not to judge it before seeing its practices. He claimed that a government no matter what is better than the vacuum without one.
As far as we are concerned His statements do not express the Maronite historic convictions by any means, do not witness for the truth, underestimate the Lebanese intelligence and patriotism, disregard the Martyrs sacrifices, make no sense and can not be justified or accepted by any logic or faith standards.
No one should expect the thorn bushes to bear figs and Hezbollah the Iranian Terrorist armed militia can not be but an Iran tool of terrorism. Stances of appeasing and cajoling is what a Maronite Patriarch is expected to adopt.
In conclusion His statements can only be categorized as Dhimmitude approaches per excellence. We denounced such harmful and shameful stances and called on His beatitude to adhere to Bkerki's historic convictions and stances as was the situation with the retired Patriarch, Nasrallah Sfier.
In our editorial we reminded His beatitude with what Saint Peter said about appeasing and cajoling in His letter to the Galatians 1/10: "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ
