Bible Quotation For Today/‘Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the
sabbath, to save life or to kill?’
Mark 03/01-12./"Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was
there who had a withered hand. They watched him to see whether he would cure
him on the sabbath, so that they might accuse him. And he said to the man
who had the withered hand, ‘Come forward.’ Then he said to them, ‘Is it
lawful to do good or to do harm on the sabbath, to save life or to kill?’
But they were silent. He looked around at them with anger; he was grieved at
their hardness of heart and said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ He
stretched it out, and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and
immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.
Jesus departed with his disciples to the lake, and a great multitude from
Galilee followed him; hearing all that he was doing, they came to him in
great numbers from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and the
region around Tyre and Sidon. He told his disciples to have a boat ready for
him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him; for he had cured
many, so that all who had diseases pressed upon him to touch him. Whenever
the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and shouted, ‘You are
the Son of God!’ But he sternly ordered them not to make him known."
Bible Quotation For Today/The Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that
through me the message might be fully proclaimed
Second Letter to Timothy 04/09-19/: "Do your best to come to
me soon, for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and
gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Only
Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful in my
ministry. I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. When you come, bring the cloak
that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the
parchments. Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will pay
him back for his deeds. You also must beware of him, for he strongly opposed
our message. At my first defence no one came to my support, but all deserted
me. May it not be counted against them! But the Lord stood by me and gave me
strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all
the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord
will rescue me from every evil attack and save me for his heavenly kingdom.
To him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. Greet Prisca and Aquila, and
the household of Onesiphorus."
